These words are enduringly inscribed in bronze at the four campus entrances of the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) - the newest and the largest state university in the province of Laguna, Philippines.
Evocative of these same words, the success of the University lies parallel. From its humble beginning as a provincial high school in Siniloan, Laguna in 1952, much has been accomplished leading to its university hood.
Today with the capable, dynamic and visionary leadership of its University President, Dr. Ricardo A. Wagan, who was key and instrumental to its recognition as a university, the LSPU sets itself at the dawn of becoming a premier university at the forefront of the provinces if Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon - five provinces collectively known as CALABARZON recognized as the largest economic zone in the country.
As a rapidly growing and goal achieving University, LSPU effectively educates, equip knowledge and skills to around 20,000 students in 4 strategic and conducive-to-learning campuses occupying a combined total land area of 134 hectares located in Siniloan, Sta. Cruz. Los Baños, and San Pablo City.
LSPU - Siniloan Campus, from whence the university lends its name from and from where it all began, offers exceptional training and knowledge on Agricultural Technology.
The LSPU - Sta. Cruz Campus originally known as the Laguna College of Arts and Trades (LCAT) specializes in Engineering and serves as the main campus for the university.
Excellent instruction on Science and Fisheries are the thrusts of LSPU - Los Baños Campus - in the past referred to as the Los Banos College of Fisheries (LBCF) and;
The LSPU - San Pablo City Campus, former San Pablo City National School of Arts and Trades (SPCNSAT), offers quality education in the field of Electronics Technology.
Significant years and corresponding events that lead to the creation of the LSPU are as follows:
1952 - Established as the Baybay Provincial High School
1957 - Converted to an agricultural school and renamed BaybayNational Agricultural and Vocational Technology
1971 - Elevated to a college: Baybay National College of Agricultural Technology
1983 - Elevated to a state college: Laguna State Polytechnic College
1999 - Integration of LCAT, SPCNSAT, LBCF to LSPC
2007 - Conversion as a State University
In the future, LSPU shall be a center of excellence in almost all field of study from the agriculture to the latest field in information technology. LSPU will be a university where a complete, relevant and quality education is available.
